Meet Our Staff

This is our year-round team, here day-in and day-out caring for our birds, educating visitors, maintaining our facilities and communicating with members. In addition we add between 10 and 13 additional staff to help educate our summer visitors and make the Alaska Raptor Center the highlight of a vacation. Our summer staff are known as Wildlife Interpreters and in a very short time become very knowledgeable about our birds, their environment and the work we do here in Alaska.

Jennifer Cedarleaf, Avian Rehabilitation Coordinator
Jen is typically referred to as our “rehabber,” since her primary duty is to take care of the injured and sick birds admitted to our clinic. Jen works part time for the Center, adjusting her schedule to match our patient load. The rest of the time she is a research assistant for a humpback whale biologist.

coming soon Victoria Vosburg, DVM - Veterinarian
Dr. Vosburg supports the Center on a contract basis, diagnosing, treating and helping rehabilitate our wild patients. In addition, she performs regular exams and care for our resident education birds. She was our staff veterinarian at the Center from the mid 1990's through 1998, and returned to us on a contract basis in 2005. We are very fortunate to have someone with her level of experience with raptors, coupled with a thorough knowledge of our organization and a love for both.
Photo Coming soon Steve Gulledge, Facility Maintance
After more than 10 years with no one on staff to take care of our maintenance needs, we were able to add this position back, and when Steve came through our doors we hit the jackpot! Steve came to work with us in 2009 and hasn’t stopped for a second since then. He is in constant motion, and sometimes has a project completed before we’re done thinking about it! With 17 acres of property, a large physical facility and more than 10 years of deferred maintenance, Steve has plenty of job security with us.
